Leopard 43 (Moorings 4300) vs Leopard 43 (2026)

Specifications and performance ratios side by side.

Same name, same length, two decades apart. The original Leopard 43, sold in charter trim as the Moorings 4300, was built by Robertson and Caine from 2004 to 2007, with 74 hulls launched to Simonis Voogd lines. The 2026 Leopard 43 comes from the same builder and design office and keeps almost the same 13-metre length, but it's a very different boat. Its waterline is about a metre longer, its draft deeper, and its published displacement close to six tonnes higher, though builders now often quote a heavier, more fully equipped figure than they did in 2004. The new boat carries more sail, bigger engines (twin 45 hp instead of twin 39 hp) and much larger fuel tanks. Below, we put them side by side, so you can see what twenty years of catamaran design has changed.
